Your Support Is Our Strength
Our annual memberships don’t cost much, yet they are critical to our ability to affect change in our neighborhood. For example, we spent under $200 to buy 1,500 door hangers that our volunteers have been placing at homes throughout our neighborhood. This has resulted in dozens of new faces at our meetings, most of whom had no idea we even existed. Both memberships and direct donations are a wonderful way to support our cause and are tax deductible.
Legacy Trees
Our signature initiative, we have embarked on a 20-year plan to plant trees throughout North Central with the support of the City of Charleston’s Parks Department. For every 2 trees we order, the city will donate 1. The city will plant the trees and water them for a year.
If you buy a tree, you can decide if you want it in front of your home, suggest an alternative (for example, on your street), or donate it to a High-Impact spot. High-impact spots are identified as places where trees are needed but are connected to a property that may not have the resources to purchase them.
Though our current cap is 15 trees per year, we hope to expand the program in the coming years.
